Conference info, how to watch/participate: https://emacsconf.org/2024/ Guidelines for conduct: https://emacsconf.org/conduct/ See end of file for license (CC Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 + GPLv3 or later) ---------------------------------------------------------------- Questions and discussion go here: - I wish to see more AI built-in into Emacs for the local static AI LLMs - Have you looked into gpt.el? Seems promising. Yes, I did. Is too complex. I see. I wish I knew more but I just prefer my editor to not have AI features. =), sure but your editor is already artificial intelligence. How so? - here: https://gnu.support/articles/ALL-COMPUTER-PROGRAMS-EMBODY-ASPECTS-OF-ARTIFICIAL-INTELLIGENCE-92631.html - all programs we ever made is artificial intelligence, maybe we don't match in definition? - Emacs is highest example of artificial intelligence - I just wish I could see more self-running agents, such as reviewing emails automatically, SMS, XMPP messages, and then helping the manager to capture leads, answer customer support questions and similar. - You can add ideas for making EmacsConf better too - First EmacsConf that I'm attending! Excited to be here! - Wish to see GNU Emacs easier module integration such as emacs-libpq - Courses for Emacs for physical deliveries in other countries would be good to have - LaTeX is Le-te-h not le-te-k - I've noticed that some of the videos have stereo audio and the microphones used to record are recording in stereo also. This means that when the speaker moves around the mic, the volume becomes unbalanced across left/right speakers. The effect is more pronounced when the speakers are far apart from each other. It would be nice to re-encode pre-recorded audio to mono so that this isn't an issue. EmacsConf stands out for having so many nice people. The friendliest conference I ever attend, by far. And so well run. Kudos to the organizers! exceptionally made awesome conference schedule I love that there are plenty of gaps between the talks for questions (and "comfort" breaks ;-)). ericsfraga: well, some of those are Q&A gaps :) - One soft-suggestion for presentors can be to use keycast-mode. Usually people have custom keybindings but this mode shows the actual command being called in the mode-line. - https://github.com/tarsius/keycast - Update: interaction-log package part of Speaker prep already. I can't user Etherpad from Eww in Emacs :( What is the emacs package, people use to joins eherpad, irc, or bbb ? IAm I oblige to join whith my FF browser for the latest ? Is ther any rich heavy client like Telegram-Desktop_X, (btw: I use telega... and look for their equivalent for BBB irc or EtherPad ).... thnks for answering, and pointing to a howto link... People connecting through emacsconf, yay! jmbr: hey, are this jmbr? https://sr.ht/~jmbr/maxima-interface/ [13:18] edrx: Hi, yes [13:20] wow!!! I started to try it yesterday but I got stuck at the ASDF part... can we chat about that later? I watched your talk yesterday (not live) and I made a note to try eev.
